GREETINGS:  My name is Lance, and I own and manage the Fresh Breeze Inn. The Inn is situated on a hill above the small fishing village of Chacala, Nyarit with nice ocean views from each of the three Bungalows.  The Inn is an easy 7 minute walk to the beach. A nice fresh breeze usually comes up in the early afternoon, hence the name “Fresh Breeze Inn.” We keep the Inn clean and upbeat, and I really do enjoy my role as innkeeper and host.  This will be our third year, so the Inn is relatively new and very well maintained.   I live in Bungalow #4 (second floor) and am available day to day to help with information, maps, outings and adventures or to address any problems or questions you might have.

All of the  water is now safe to drink at the Inn due to a new in line ultraviolet light and filtration system.  The area in front and beside the Inn is one of the best bird watching areas in Chacala.  Over 100 species were recently identified from the third floor patio in less then a weeks time. Birders often come up the hill and watch in the early morning. I have a list of birds of Chacala that is available.

Chacala remains a safe haven. We have essentially no crime or violence here.  The local people are generally  friendly and welcoming.  There are unusually good relations between the internationals and local Mexicans because of positive interactions during the past 15  years.

The Inn has been carefully  cleaned and spruced up and we are now open.    Our beach was just “certified”; which means it is one of the cleanest beaches in Mexico!  Our ocean cove provides a relatively safe place to swim, kayack and go on ocean excursions in the motorized “pongas”  for fishing, whale watching, etc.  Reservations can be made at any time.  High season (when most visitors come to Chacala) runs from the 15th of December through  Easter.

Bungalow #3 was pretty much reserved by the time high season began.  I keep the availability calendars up to date, so check them out for an available booking.Bungalows #1 and #2 are on the first floor, and Bungalow #3 is on the third floor.   All three have high-quality queen bed mattresses. Bungalow #1 also has a narrow day bed for a third guest. Bungalow #3 also has a double futon and can accommodate up to 4 guests.  A rooftop patio is available to all guests. The garden in back has a terracotta barbecue and is shaded in the afternoon. Because the Inn sits on a dead-end road above the postage stamp sized town, it is relatively quiet. We do have dogs and roosters, as well as vendors driving around broadcasting their wares.

We now rent two high quality boogie boards for 50 pesos each per day (about 4 dollars).  We also sell wine since it is difficult to obtain good wine at a reasonable price in Chacala.
